  Price is reasonable. Decoration is outdated. It's pretty straightforward. Food is okay. Nothing outstanding but i guess thats not necessarily a bad thing.

  I have lived in this neighborhood for years and I am ashamed to say this was my first time here.  I have walked by this place so many times over the years.  The other night I was walking by I noticed that they were pretty busy so today I decided to come here for lunch.  They have a pretty nice selection for lunch.  I ordered their sushi lunch special and it was absolutely delicious.  It came with soup and salad, 5 pieces of sushi, plus a California roll.  I actually really do not like that roll so I substituted with a tuna roll.  I also ordered their spicy hand roll and it was filled with so little rice with a nice amount of tuna it really hit the spot.  I had a fantastic lunch and everything was very fresh.  I would definitely come here again for lunch or dinner.

  I went for lunch during a Saturday, even though their listed hours says they are only open for dinner during the weekend. The staff is friendly and would explain what the dishes are if you are unfamiliar with Japanese food. I'm not sure if they have any lunch specials as they were not on the menu. They have dinner specials for around $12 which comes with soup, salad, a main dish, and an appetizer. I decided to get the oyako don buri (a chicken dish over rice) which comes with miso soup and a salad for $11. The salad was basic and comes with the usual delicious ginger dressing. The soup was pretty tasty. I found the chicken don buri boring and bland though, but the portion was large. Skip the chicken don buri and get something else.

  Like a few of the other reviewers, I was also afraid to try this place because of the bad reviews (and difficulty to see inside the restaurant from outside) and now feel bad. This place is fantastic! I've been here several times now and have tried several of their rolls, sushi, and appetizers and everything has always been fresh and delicious.
  
  My husband (who is Japanese) and I have tried out all the other Japanese restaurants in the area in a quest to find good everyday sushi and this is by far our favorite. The staff is fast and super friendly. The prices are very reasonable compared to all the other sushi places we've been (Takesushi's the most overpriced and overhyped in the neighborhood and omakase offerings in the city
  are insanely overpriced for what you get). But most of all the food tastes good and authentic (fried octopus, miso eggplant, etc all tasted comparable to places in Japan). Special rolls (esp Happy Roll) are all so good. Extra points because this place is also baby/stroller friendly.
  
  I won't say this is the best sushi we've ever had (we lived in Tokyo afterall), but this is one of the best places we've found in NYC.

  I am surprised at the awful Yelp reviews for this place. If you are measuring this modest neighborhood joint against trendy avant-garde places selling $200 omakase in Manhattan, then you will be disappointed. This is a serviceable restaurant for tired (lazy) commuters who want to pop in for a quick bite or easy takeout on a busy work day. From that standpoint, this restaurant serves its purpose well.
  
  Oki offers the same comprehensive menu that you often see at Americanized Japanese restaurants, ranging from comfort foods (donburi, teriyaki bento boxes) to sushi. The quality of the food is good for the price. Sushi rolls are filled with a decent portion of fresh fish (I've never detected that pungent, funky after-taste that you get with older fish). The presentation of dishes is neat and orderly without superfluous flourishes. The house sake is affordable and will get you drunk.
  
  Will eating here be a life-changing experience? No, but what do you expect for a $10 dinner?
